Aukua MGA2510 Latency Monitor

Aukua's new Latency Monitoring Analyzer directly but passively measures the latency experienced by live application traffic.

Network latency has become a significant challenge for IT professionals. Network applications such as audio and video delivery, as well as bandwidth sensitive mobile applications, cloud computing and storage services are extremely sensitive to network latency. The roll out of new security solutions called Next Generation Intrusion Prevention Systems (NGIPS) and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) complicate this even further. These devices and others that perform deep packet inspection can increase latency, significantly impacting application performance. Moreover, it is important to understand that these systems do not treat all packets the same.

Aukua's Latency Monitoring Analyzer helps our customers indentify which applications, flows or packets are negatively affected by these systems and helps find those latency bottlenecks faster and more accurately than methods that use active probes or artificial traffic such as ICMP. By not inserting foreign traffic into the network, Aukua's solution also helps with regulatory or procedural requirements (e.g., HIPAA or PCI Security Compliance).

  • An out-of-band or passive approach to measuring network packet latency
  • Measures one-way latency of each and every packet of interest
  • Powerful filtering technology allows you to target specific devices, applications, or packet sizes for latency analysis
  • A much more accurate and direct way to verify the latency your application packets are experiencing
  • Other powerful features of the MGA2510 include line rate packet capturing and custom real-time bandwidth statistics with graphical analysis
